It's possible to use both the sword and familiar at the same time, but only by setting the sword to an empty shortcut, then switching to that shortcut with the familiar's shard already equipped. Note that you CAN'T make a shortcut with both equipped, but empty slots in a shortcut will just keep whatever's already equipped, meaning you can use the sword and the shard.
You can't equip that sword together with the related familiar.
Someone said on reddit it has the 2nd highest Atk sword in the game if you use the familiar long enough for it to aquire enough Str. Can someone confirm?
It is the same design as Alucard's sword in the reboot
It has a third change at level 75, adding more details, a more elaborated hilt and becoming a double edged sword. Max level is 99, and it doesn't change in aspect any further after level 75.
This sword is automatically added to your inventory when you acquire the Bloodbringer shard.
