Dian Cecht Cathedral Walkthrough

After an intense encounter with Zangetsu, we follow our protagonist Miriam towards a path leading to a demonic cathedral. What lies ahead is an unknown entity that possesses a power we must acquire in order to further explore Gebel's castle.

Further into the Castle

Start by heading towards the west side of the room where you fought Zangetsu. Here, you'll find a 1x HP Max Up at the other end of the platform, just be mindful that there are Ghosts floating around the room. If you jump on the chandeliers and head to the top left of the room, you'll find a chest that has 1x Iron and 1x Cotton, if you head down at the bottom part of the room, you'll be able to find 1x Capacity Up at the east side, inside the room next to the upgrade item, you'll find an NPC Benjamin, speak to him and provide him with a Waystone for him to return home, you'll acquire 1,000G for completing this mini-quest. The west side of the bottom area is another room where a Blood Grinder Knight is guarding a bookshelf, kill it and acquire the journal for Miriam to learn the Eleventh Hour (Skill/Ability). After you've checked the whole room, head back to the platform where you acquired the HP Max Up goblet and continue towards the next room.

You'll encounter a 2x Blood Grinder Knight and 1x Sabnock inside this room, kill it and continue on to the new location.

Dian Cecht Cathedral

You've now discovered a new location, the Dian Cecht Cathedral. As soon as you step down the stairs, a Killer Barber will rush in to attack you, kill it and continue onward (The Killer Barber may grant you with the Dagger Expertise shard upon defeat). At the west end of the room, you'll find a bookshelf under the wooden stairs with a journal for Miriam to learn the Critical Swing skill/ability, the next room beside it is a save point for you to use.

Continue your exploration and head up the second level by using the wooden stairs, be vigilant since a Buer roams around and will instantly rush in to attack once it sees Miriam. A Gieremund will also rush in you before climbing up the slope, followed by a portrait that is being controlled by a Poltergeist will start to float and attack you. Jump onto the middle platform to reach the 3rd level of the room, again, once you climb up the slope, the portrait controlled by a Poltergeist will start to move and attack Miriam. Killing one of the Poltergeist will grant you a chance to acquire its ShardWelcome Company. Now, continue heading to the top, where another Buer awaits and will rush in for an attack once you're within its range, kill it and proceed onward. From where the Buer was roaming around, head west where you'll find a post-like object that has a white substance on top of it, strike it to acquire 1x Skill Shard.

Moving on, head east where another Poltergeist will attack you, kill it and jump up onto the next level of the room. You'll encounter 1x Cyhyraeth at the west side, while 1x Killer Barber at the east side, be mindful of fighting the Cyhyraeth since its attacks can inflict Curse on Miriam, a Sinister Rag may be dropped by the demon upon killing it. Heading west towards the room where the Cyhyraeth was blocking your way is a path that will lead you back to the Entrance of Gebel's castle. If you decide to go back to the Entrance, you can find 1x HP Max Up at the end of the corridor. But for now, we will head east into a new room where another Killer Barber will be blocking your path, kill it and proceed forward.

Now, you'll find yourself in another room with 1x Killer Barber and 1x Buer, killing the Buer grants a chance for a Cocoa and Leonine Pelt to drop upon killing it. Head up at towards the west side where you'll find a narrow space with wooden platforms for you to jump on, proceed by heading on to the top of the platforms and moving east towards another room.

From here, you'll notice a huge being that has an aura surrounding it. You'll find it to be a cat-like demon called Nyabon that has horns and what seems to be wings for its ears - it will just look at you and follow your movement if you run by it, however, once you attack it still won't attack Miriam but rather, it will start to lick its paw. Slaying the demon will allow Miriam to acquire its ShardRiga Storaema. After acquiring the Shard, continue moving east into a new room.

In this room, be vigilant since there are 1x Demon and 1x Ordog (An Ordog may drop its shard, Acid Jet upon defeat). Be careful with fighting the Demon since it can conjure different spells that have a variety of range, so be sure to kill the Ordog first and then shift your focus towards the Demon. On the second level of the room, you'll find a chest with 1x Dance Mask on the west side and a bookshelf containing a journal on the east side. Head up onto the third level and head west towards another room.

The Good Killer Barber

As soon as you step inside the room, you'll encounter a strange Killer Barer inside a room that has a portrait of Dominique. The demon introduces himself as Todd and mentions that he is a good Killer Barber and that he wishes to cast away the curse, and the only way to do that? Is if he barbers his way through perfecting 666 different hairstyles. Todd then requests for your assistance to find more information on different hairstyles and in return, he will provide haircuts free of charge.

Despite the enticing offer, Miriam agrees to help the good Killer Barber. Here, you'll be able to interact with the chair and fully customize Miriam's appearance to your liking, from hairstyle, clothing colors, and more.

Now, if you go back to the previous room and head east this time, you'll be able to acquire 1x Capacity Up and the room next to it is a fast travel room for you to use and unlock.

Demons and Gargoyles

After you've checked the appearance customization room, head back down to the lower level of the room and proceed to the eastern side into another room. Another Demon along with a 2x Killer Barber and 1x Gargoyle will be blocking your path, so again, make sure to kill the lesser enemy first before the Demon so that you can focus on its movements and attacks. As you move onto the next room, more demons will be waiting. Another Demon along with 2x Gargoyle and 1x Bloodbringer (Killing the Gargoyle can grant you with the chance to acquire the Petra Ray shard, while the Bloodbringer can grant you with the Familiar: Bloodbringer shard).

You'll notice that there is a sword floating on top of a chest, that is the Bloodbringer that will attack Miriam once she opens the chest, inside the chest, you can acquire 1x Hair Apparent 1 that you can give to Todd later on. The east-hand side from the chest is where you can find a bookshelf that has a journal for Miriam to learn the Rapid Fire skill/ability and the room next to it is a save point.

Enter the room, replenish your HP and MP, and SAVE YOUR GAME. Now, if you head up into the room above the save point, you'll encounter a long hallway that leads to the castle's cathedral where a boss awaits.

Boss Battle, Craftwork

Once you enter the cathedral, an entity will spring out from the glass window and uses the shards to transform into a spider, this boss is Dian Cecht Catherdald Craftwork. You can click on its name to check the strategies on how to defeat it. Defeating Craftwork will grant a player with the "Show of Hands" Trophy/Achievement as well as acquiring the Manipulative Shard, Craftwork. This shard will now allow you to manipulate heavy objects. Once Craftwork is defeated, the wall at the eastern side will collapse where you can enter into another room, inside, you'll find 1x  and a chest containing 1x Unicorn Ring. - an important note to also remember is once you've defeated Andrealphus at Livre Ex Machina and have acquired the Double Jump ability, you can return here and reach the top room to find a chest with 1x Crusader's Armor in it and for Miriam to acquire the Familiar: Silver Knight shard.

Head back outside the hallway and into the room with Gargoyles, the Bloodbringer, Demon, and head to the save room to save your progress before you continue onto the next location. Once you're done, head back outside and go west into a room with a disturbing portrait with the face of a man and a moving eyeball - drop down and a Poltergeist will attack you, kill it and open the door that will lead you back to the Entrance.

Return to the Coachman

Since you've now obtained the Craftwork shard, return to the Coachman at the Garden of Silence and use the Craftwork's power to move the obstacle that is blocking the way. Now walk towards the edge of the carriage of the Coachman, interact to sit on it, and the Coachman will take you to the far end of the garden. From here, we will continue the walkthrough in the Garden of Silence (Revisited).

Dian Cecht Cathedral (Revisited) Walkthrough

After discovering and exploring the depths of the Hall of Termination, Miriam pursues the chambers of a vampiric demon deep within where the bells tolls.

The Cathedral's Bell Tower

For this walkthrough, we'll continue from the Hall of Termination. You'll find yourself within Dian Cecht Cathedral's bell tower. Jump up to the 2nd level where you'll encounter 1x Archdemon. After killing it, jump up to the top of the bell where you'll see a chest on each side of the platform. On the left, is a chest containing 1x Carpenter's Key, while on the right side is another chest that has 2000G in it. Now head back down to the platform where the bell is and jump in the middle of it to acquire 1x HP Max Up - open the chests, collect the upgrade item, and head down the bottom of the room.

Now be careful heading down since you can miss a platform and end up at the very bottom of the room. Take your time with jumping, because on the left-hand side, on the 2nd platform you can drop down to is a chest with 2000G in it. Once you've opened the chest, you can continue going down the room.

From here, there will be multiple Simian leaping around the room and 1x Shield Outsider on the center platform. Killing them may drop Monster Blood and a Steel Breastplate. The first level to your right is a bookshelf with a journal for Miriam to learn the Lunging Serpent skill/ability, and a save room. (Don't forget to save your game!) From here, head back outside and jump to the 2nd level, also at the east side to continue moving to the next room. You'll now encounter a corridor that leads to the next boss.

Boss Battle, Bloodless

Remember the message Zangetsu sent about a "demon woman basking in blood"? Well, you've found the chamber of the vampire, Bloodless. Once you're inside the room, you'll find a white curtain covering something in the middle of the room, walk up to it and interact with it to reveal that the woman is basking in a bathtub full of blood. The boss battle begins after the short cutscene ends with the blood she bathed in transforms into her clothing. You can visit the Bosses page to learn more about strategies on how to defeat this boss. Upon defeating Bloodless, Miriam can acquire the Blood Steal shard, as well as unlocking the "Tourniquet" Trophy/Achievement.

Back to Livre Ex Machina

After defeating Bloodless, the doors will unlock allowing you to continue your exploration, now head east towards a new room. Here, you'll find a chest that has 1x Red Umbrella, and another path that will lead you to an extended area to explore within Livre Ex Machina - open the chest, collect the item, and continue heading towards Livre Ex Machina.

In the room, you'll need to push the bookshelf to the right for it to activate the switch, this will cause the platform in the middle to open allowing you to drop down. Be vigilant since there is 1x Titania and 1x Axe Outsider, kill the demons for a chance of an item to drop and proceed into the next room at the east.

For the next room, you'll see a long corridor with multiple demons blocking your path. There will be 1x Tamako-Death, 2x Carriage Morte, and 2x Lance Armor (Lance Armor may drop Silver) - try to kill the demons for a chance of an item to drop or avoid them and head onto the next area.

The next room will have a metal platform for you to jump on that will lead you into a new room and a lever that will cause the bookshelves to drop down and form into a bridge. Pulling the lever opens a path for you to retrace your course near the starting area of Livre Ex Machina - activate the lever and head back to the fast travel room near Orlok Dracule's and teleport to the Entrance.

The Fountain of Blood

Once you've teleported back to the Entrance, immediately head towards the room that has a fountain of blood. This is located near the starting point of this location. Since you've acquired the Blood Steal shard from Bloodless, you can now absorb the pool of blood in the fountain to reveal a secret passage - equip the shard from the menu and activate it.

After absorbing the blood, head down the path in the middle of the empty fountain to reveal another course that will lead you to the next location, the Forbidden Underground Waterway.

      The revisited page - you can't jump up to the bell tower with normal double jump nor the normal ray, only after upgrading it with bovine feather. So the timing of the bell tower is wrong in the walkthrough.

        Quick note: Once defeating Craftwork, you can access the upper room with the Crusaders armor and Familiar: Silver Knight by manipulating the pillar to the right side and jumping up normally. You do not need double jump.
